My Sickels Mock Draft Picks

I picked for the Rangers, and these are the players I got in the mock:

14. Chad James, LHP, Yukon HS (OK)
44. Jared Mitchell, OF, LSU
62. Zack Von Rosenberg, RHP, Zachary HS (LA)
93. Billy Bullock, RHP, Florida

I had them at 12, 14, 45, and 50 on my personal board. I’m happy.

  1. I feel you had James a little high, but getting Mitchell and Von Rosenberg with the 2nd and 3rd picks is very nice. Good work.

  2. I went with a solid A. I really wanted Chad James at 21. Shelby Miller or Matt Purke would have been the popular pick, but I like that you stuck with your guy and picked the guy you liked the most. Besides, I don’t think James’ stuff is that far behind, if behind at all.

Mitchell is a great pick. High upside college outfielder, with a Carl Crawford ceiling, sign me up. I also considered him at 21, but Mike Trout was too good to pass up.

Of course I like Rosenberg. Pitched in four HS championship games.

I don’t love Bullock, but great value in round three.

  3. Love the Mitchell and Von Rosenburg picks. Would you have considered Glaesmann or Colvin in Rd2 if they were available? I might have gone with Bryan Berglund in Rd3, but having already chosen two prep pitchers, I can understand going with Bullock there.

  4. I don’t love James at 14, but Mitchell and von Rosenberg were great value picks. I’d be satisfied if this is the crop we took on draft day.
